The NSS Unit of Rosa Mystica PU College, Kinnikambla, observed World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to environmental conservation.
As part of the celebration, NSS volunteers, staff members, and students actively participated in a tree-planting drive, plastic collection campaign, and environmental awareness programme within the college campus. Together, they collected plastic waste from different areas of the campus with the aim of making the college a Plastic-Free Zone and promoting a clean and healthy environment.
Students displayed placards carrying messages on environmental protection and highlighted the importance of reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and maintaining ecological balance. The NSS volunteers played a vital role in coordinating the activities and encouraging active participation among the students.
A special oath-taking ceremony was also conducted, during which the students pledged to protect the environment, reduce the use of plastic, maintain cleanliness, and work towards creating a sustainable future. The oath inspired the participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic involvement from NSS volunteers, staff, and students, reflecting their collective dedication towards building a greener and healthier future. The initiative successfully instilled a sense of environmental responsibility among all participants and reinforced the message, “Save Nature, Secure the Future.”
