August 15, 2026: Rosa Mystica PU College, Kinnikambla, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic fervour, vibrant cultural performances, and enthusiastic student participation at the Rosa Mystica Auditorium.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by a spirit-filled tribute to the nation. The presence of Mr. Robin Rosario, Retired Army Officer and Chief Guest, added special significance to the occasion.
The cultural programme beautifully reflected the students’ love for the nation through patriotic songs, dances, a skit, and an impressive pyramid display. Ashel Maria Thoras delivered a meaningful Independence Day message, reminding everyone of the values of freedom, unity, and responsibility.
Addressing the gathering, Sr. Anita Lydia, Principal, paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose courage and sacrifices secured the freedom India enjoys today. She encouraged students to honour their legacy by becoming responsible citizens who practise respect, compassion, environmental care, and concern for others.
Emphasising that young people are the decision-makers of tomorrow, she urged students to use their talents for the good of society and contribute towards building a stronger, value-rich India. She also encouraged everyone to practise five good deeds every day.
The programme was compered by Sawad and Nishana and concluded on an inspiring note, leaving the gathering filled with patriotism, gratitude, unity, and renewed commitment to serve the nation.
